This is a nifty little idea but it will take more effort from your side as you need to spend a couple of hours shopping. The idea is to put together a box of items containing different little gifts and they make up one big present.

Level of difficulty: 8 / 10

Time required: With planning, ~3 hours. (Exclude travelling time)

Cost: > $20  depending on no. of items and materials used.

Step by steps:

1. Decide on how many items you want to put in the box. Usually, an easy guideline is to put the no. of items according to the age of the birthday person, no. of days/months/years you’ve known the person, or for couples, the no. of days/months/years you’ve been together. So if the birthday boy or girl is 18, just have a list of 18 things you need to make/buy!

2.   Draw up your list of things.
Some suggestions of things to put in:- Choose one item that is going to be the highlight of the box. Like say, a really expensive piece of accessory that they can keep.

  • Think of the good times you shared with the person, include in your list some items that represent that.
  • A printed Mug with a photo of an outing that you had with him/her, perhaps?
  • Look at what they need, an organiser, a bookmark, a wallet,  a coin pouch, a tissue case.
  • Some paper origami – a box of hearts, a bunch of paper roses.

3.   Choose a nice box. A Precious Moment box is a good idea. (It can also be part of your list of items)

4.   Fill’em up! To be more efficient for your shopping time, put in your plan the shops that you need to visit.

Easy 4 step process that involves a lot of fun for you and the recipient!

    Hi Tink,

We have many types of mugs. There’s one particular couple mug, where 2 mugs fit each other nicely together. Would that be something interesting for you? ;)
